How to help someone who has Anorexia
First off this can be a really difficult thing to do.
The anorexic person usually does not know why they do not want to eat. and telling them to ‘snap out of it’ does more harm than good. One client said ‘don’t you think I tried! If only I knew how to?’ In most cases they are not ‘wallowing in self pity”
Well we have all seen the lists: being extremely sad/tearful, loss of interest/motivation, bad sleeping patterns, not interested in sex, has no pleasure in doing things and so on.
If they know that you may not understand what they are going through but you are committed to help and support them, this will encourage them to want to get well.
Also remember that most have already tried, drugs, talking about their problems/worries and nothing works to relieving their anorexia, may have given up as nothing works.
Your Envisioned Mind works quickly; in just a few weeks you can have them back!
Others have done so.
“My Eating Disorder which controlled my life went after doing the Your Envisioned Mind and I now am at university.” P. 29
“Happiness comes from within. I have let go of the ghosts and my outlook on life has changed”. Dannie 43.
“My mind was a place of horror, now it is a place for dreaming. My depression has lifted, now I can move on with my life”. Nicky 51
The beauty of my work Your Envisioned Mind is that firstly you do not have to talk in great detail about what is causing the anorexia, there are just 2 simple forms which need to be filled; then off you go in the journey to wellness.
There is a manual which explains each small step that you do with an mp3 talking you through this process; then a workbook for you to record your process. This is a very gentle and powerful process which allows you to go at your own pace in the privacy of your own home. It is as easy as that!
With the person understanding that they do not have to talk about their problems and seeing your commitment to do the process with them, hopefully they will agree to follow the formula to good mental health
